Visa has announced the opening of its startup accelerator program. The Visa Accelerator Programme, now in its third year, selects a small group of companies from throughout the Asia Pacific to engage on some of the most urgent problems in the payments sector.
This initiative, which begins next year, will concentrate on building solutions for Web 3.0, global money mobility, embedded finance, merchant and small business enablers, and open banking solutions.
The Visa Accelerator Program, which was launched in 2019, has facilitated the growth of some of Asia Pacific’s most famous businesses, according to the company. After working with Visa product and business development teams to bring their concepts to life and extend their companies into new markets around the region, the five startups from the 2022 cohort presented their proofs-of-concept at the Visa Accelerator Spotlight event.
Startups from the 2021 and 2022 cohorts completed nine business transactions in Asia Pacific with Visa’s clients and partners. Visa has also signed six cooperation and commercial agreements with chosen companies. DigitSecure and Open from India were chosen for the program’s first cohort, while Perfios was chosen for the second.
Sandeep Ghosh, Group Country Manager, India, and South Asia, Visa, said, “We have seen some exceptional ideas from startups in India that have been a part of the past cohorts and co-developed great products. Expectations are high as we invite startups for the third cohort and hope to continue driving the same positive momentum with the Program.”
