Her public profile is set to soar as she steps out as a contestant on this year’s Dancing with the Stars, but entrepreneur Suzanne Jackson’s beauty empire is already waltzing its way to success.
Recently released accounts show the SOSUEME blog founder’s beauty businesses are in rude health as Suzanne looks forward to dazzling on the dancefloor next month.
They confirm the combined assets held by her two companies are now valued at just over €7m. The cash funds at one of her firms, Cohar Ltd, at the end of December 2021 totalled €5.3m – up more than €1m on the previous year. And while the net assets held by her other business, SOSUEME Ltd, dipped slightly during the same period, they still totalled a healthy €1.8m.
The self-made success story has enjoyed a hugely lucrative few years as she built her SOSUEME brand into a multimillion-euro beauty business empire. She began blogging in 2010 under SOSUEME, writing about all things fashion and beauty. By 2013 she left her day job to dedicate her time to her own business and by 2016 she made another leap and launched her own beauty range, SoSu Cosmetics.
Last July she announced her plans to step down as CEO of the business.
The beauty businesswoman has forged a lucrative partnership with cosmetics distributor Sundrelle Ltd, owned by the O’Gorman family.
Cohar Ltd is understood to be the business vehicle for Suzanne’s personal ventures, including her social media work, where she can command massive fees to plug products on her various platforms. She can charge thousands of euro for just a few posts and exponentially more for campaigns and ongoing collaborations with a variety of brands.
She also presents the popular RTÉ makeover show, The Style Counsellors, alongside fellow influencer Eileen Smith, and has just finished filming the fourth series which is due to air in 2023.
Suzanne is among five celebrities confirmed so far who will compete for the coveted DWTS Glitterball in the new year, alongside Panti Bliss (aka Rory O’Neill), Eurovision singer Brooke Scullion, ex-Dublin GAA star Paul Brogan and the former State Pathologist, Dr Marie Cassidy.
Speaking after she was unveiled as a contestant last week, 38-year-old Suzanne gushed about how she is a huge fan of the series.
‘I’ve watched DWTS for years and I love the show and everything about it – from the dancing, the glam and the costumes to all the incredible people involved. It’s such a fantastic production and to be part of it this year is a dream for me,’ she said.
‘I was an Irish dancer when I was younger, but ballroom is a completely different challenge. The timing is right for me and I’m going to give it my absolute everything with my dance partner.’
She also took to social media in recent days to say she was already finding training a little difficult but urged fans to show her support.
Suzanne told her Instagram followers: ‘We’ve had to do a bit of training for the posters and videos and stuff like that.
‘These hips don’t really move the best but I’m going to give it my best shot. You’re going to have to support me because I can’t do this on my own.’
