OSHKOSH – If you shop small and local for the holidays, Streetwise wants to hear your thoughts.
Dotted throughout Oshkosh are many businesses owned by community members and families fulfilling their career goals in the face of competition with large corporations, a global pandemic and, most recently, a shortage of both supplies and employees.
USA TODAY recently reported on these supply chain issues and labor shortages contributing to earlier-than-usual holiday shopping. Though Black Friday is weeks away, October is nearly over, and the area’s bigger stores, such as Target, Walmart and T.J. Maxx, have already stocked up on holiday decorations.
All signs point to getting a head start on holiday shopping. So, Streetwise is making a list: What are your favorite small businesses to do holiday shopping in the Oshkosh area?
What gifts do you find there? Is there a gift idea nearby that’s “wow”-ed a loved one before? Do you have a neighbor that runs an online shop?
Please email me your tips.
I will collect reader responses to create a local gift guide for the Oshkosh area later in November, just as holiday shopping really ramps up.
Send your recommendations with the names of the businesses and the types of gifts you recommend to [email protected].
