A fashion designer from the Black Isle has been crowned Entrepreneur of the Year 2022 at the Scottish Women’s Awards.

Siobhan Mackenzie picked up the accolade at the prestigious ceremony in Glasgow’s Marriott Hotel on Thursday night.

Originally from Fortrose, Ms Mackenzie was chosen to design Team Scotland’s outfits for the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham earlier this year and launched her self-named label in 2014.

She posted on her Linked In: “Thrilled to have won Entrepreneur of the Year at The Scottish Women’s Awards 2022”, next to a photo of her holding the trophy and smiling.

The fourth Scottish Women’s Awards 2022 recognised and celebrated Scottish female talent, the event honoured influential and diligent women and their organisations, which have influence in industry across Scotland.

A spokesperson for The Scottish Women’s Awards 2022 said:

“We are delighted to bring back The Scottish Women’s Awards and are sure that this year will being its fair share of brilliant inspiration.

“We are excited to recognise those who are pushing boundaries and showing the world that there is no limit to the things that women can achieve.”
