Romanian entrepreneur Dan Sucu buys 50% of legendary football club Rapid Bucuresti

Romanian entrepreneur Dan Şucu took over 50% of the shares of FC Rapid football club from Victor Angelescu – who remains with a 50% stake as well, the football club announced on its official website.

In April this year, Angelescu took over a 49% stake from Czech entrepreneur and investor Martin Machoň, the owner of debt recovery group APS Holding, thus gaining nearly full control over the football club.

Speaking about his investments, Dan Şucu said that he wishes FC Rapid to fight every year to win the national championship.

He aims for FC Rapid to support itself independently and for the club’s players and employees to be paid on time.

“We want Rapid to become again a strong team, which every year will fight to win the first place. And, why not, we hope in the future to bring it to European competitions. Yes, we would like all Rapid fans to be proud of the team’s performance again. And also for our fans, we will strive for these performances to be obtained through seriousness and correctness,” said Şucu.
