Speaking at ET Now Leaders of Tomorrow (LOT) Awards on Wednesday, Ritesh Agarwal, CEO, OYO Rooms, gave three key mantras to budding entrepreneurs – identify and pursue new business ideas, build a right team and develop perseverance.

In a fireside chat session themed ‘Dissecting Entrepreneurship in a Globalised World’, Agarwal shared the story of his entrepreneurial journey starting from a small town Rayagada in Odisha. Recollecting how he started from a small town as a 19-year-old college dropout and then winning the prestigious Thiel Fellowship, Agarwal said he dreamt big without knowing how and where to go, believing that he would find his goal ultimately.

Elaborating on his journey which started from a small Odisha town, he said that his key learnings were to dream big without constraints and believe that if you can dream it, you can achieve it.

When asked about the key factors that budding entrepreneurs should keep in mind, the founder and CEO of the affordable hotel chain said the first and foremost thing is identifying and pursuing right business ideas and then building a right team and the third is cultivating perseverance.
