To enhance skill training among tribal communities for their inclusive and sustainable development, the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) in partnership with Sewa Bharti and Yuva Vikas Society on Saturday launched Phase II of the Rural Entrepreneur Project.
Union Minister of Tribal Affairs, Arjun Munda inaugurated the program and Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Electronics and IT, Rajiv Chandrashekhar virtually addressed all the dignitaries and Union Minister of State for Jal Shakti and Tribal Welfare Bishweshwar Tudu addressed his Motivated the audience with encouraging words.
Under this initiative, to make India’s youth multi-skill and provide functional skills to enable them for livelihood, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has emphasized on inclusion of tribal communities in the workforce, ensuring their holistic development and inclusion of them in their respective geographical areas.
Among the prominent dignitaries in this program, National Organizer, V Satish and National President of Scheduled Tribes Morcha and Rajya Sabha MP Samir Oraon, BJP State President and MP Deepak Prakash, Convener National Service Bharti Gurusharan Prasad, Secretary of Youth Development Society Dr Ashish Bhave, ST Morcha National General Secretary Kaliram Manjhi, ST Morcha State President Shivshankar Oraon were present.
Grameen Udyami is a unique multi-skilling project, funded by NSDC, which aims to train 450 tribal students in Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand. The project is being implemented in six states- Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and Gujarat. The concept was crystallized by Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Rajiv Chandrashekhar and Tribal Parliamentarians.
Speaking on the occasion, Munda said, “Our entire focus is on strengthening sustainable livelihoods for the tribal population and with this the Central Government has allocated a budget of Rs 85000 crores especially for the tribal areas. has been approved. There is also a dire need to increase ownership to create awareness about such schemes and initiatives. There is so much potential and ability in the tribal youth that we need to find the right avenues to utilize their talent in the right place. Today’s launch is a step in this direction, I am sure that the Rural Entrepreneur Project will prove to be a game changer for the tribal communities of Jharkhand and will provide them the right opportunity to stand on their own feet. I want to tell our youth that you should urge your respective gram panchayats, villages and blocks to bring these initiatives to you and try to move towards your bright future.”
Chandrashekhar said, “We recently celebrated Amrit Mahotsav of Independence to honor India’s rich past and dedicated ourselves to Amrit Kaal with a vision of New India for the next quarter did. This New India will bring new opportunities and better prospects for the youth of India. We all saw the challenges posed by COVID-19 but also experienced India’s victory over this dire situation and our efforts were recognized globally. Our Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has emphasized that the path to self-reliant India will pass through self-reliant villages, self-reliant towns and self-reliant districts. Therefore, our tribal communities play an important role in our efforts to accelerate India’s economic development. I hope that the success achieved by the Rural Entrepreneur Project in Madhya Pradesh will get the same response in Jharkhand as skill is the passport to prosperity of any region.”
