monday.com Plans and Pricing 2021
monday.com’s Individual plan is limited and best suited for a solo worker who simply wants a list of their tasks. It’s restricted to two members. All of the paid plans allow unlimited users.
The Basic and Standard options are limited in functionalities and are best suited for a small team of five people or less. These plans differ in their functionality, ability to host guests, storage space and key features. Each plan offers an activity log, where you can see who changed what and when. That timeline is one week for the Individual and Basic plan and six months for the Standard plan. The Pro plan has an activity log of up to one year and for the Enterprise plan it’s up to five years. This feature can be helpful if you’re working with multiple people on your team and want the ability to return to old versions to track changes.
The Standard plan is monday.com’s most popular. It offers the choice of a timeline view, which tracks time-sensitive tasks, a calendar view to manage all the upcoming projects on a visual calendar and a map view where you can see any geographic locations on a map. In addition to these features, the Pro and Enterprise versions also offer a chart view to visualize your data on different graphs and charts, and a workload feature to see who is overburdened with tasks and reassign them to other team members.
The Standard plan also comes with automation and integrations, but it is limited to 250 actions per month for each. With the Pro plan, that number jumps to 25,000 actions per month for each. Integrations allow you to connect monday.com to other software you are already using, and automation allows you to create systems for project management, such as alerting a manager if a task is complete. You can also create private boards on the Pro plan so that every board does not need to be shared with every team member.
The Enterprise plan is suited for companies and teams that require a high level of security, regardless of the size of the team. This plan makes it easy to ensure permissions are being set correctly between users and comes with more flexibility regarding who can change permissions and who can share a project board. Additionally, Enterprise offers tailored onboarding and training so that new members can learn best practices for monday.com when they begin using the software.
monday.com vs. Competitors
There is a wide range of pricing options for each project management software. monday.com, Trello and Asana are all rated one of our top ten project management software and tools of 2021.
When it comes to free plans, ClickUp, Asana and Trello offer far more capabilities than monday.com. monday.com’s free plan allows only two users per account and is best suited for solo workers who want to keep a list of their projects.
All four companies offer a mobile app capability and unlimited users for the paid plan. The main difference comes down to price, features and flexibility, as each project management platform is designed slightly differently and may be more suitable to the type of projects you are managing.
As far as paid plans, ClickUp’s Unlimited plan and Trello’s Standard plan offer the best prices for lower-tier plans, paid annually, at $5 per month per user. If you’re paying monthly, Trello’s Standard plan is the most affordable, at $6 per month per user, compared to $9 per month per user for ClickUp’s Unlimited plan.
monday.com and Asana’s paid subscriptions are the most expensive. monday.com’s paid plans start at $8 per user per month, billed annually. As there is a minimum of three users per membership, the least you’d spend is $24 per month, billed annually. monday.com’s most popular plan, their Standard plan, costs $10 per user per month with a minimum of three users. Asana’s starts at $10.99 per month per user, billed annually, more than double the cost of ClickUp’s and Trello’s paid subscription offerings.
