This position will focus on needs in the Northeast Region but will also act as a regional resource to Ontario Health North West. Frequent in person meetings may be required as Ontario Health will be returning to in office work on a hybrid basis. These meeting will be with local health service providers, Ontario Health Team’s, and Ontario Health staff and will be located in North Eastern Ontario (Sudbury, Timmins, Sault Ste. Marie and North Bay sub-regions).

Reporting to the Director, System Strategy, Planning, Design and Implementation, the Project Management Lead, System Strategy, Planning, Design and Implementation (SSPDI) serves as a resource to all program areas and assists in the identification and implementation of appropriate planning and development methodologies within the North East region. The SSPDI NE Project Management Lead is responsible for assisting with the management of complex planning projects and initiatives to support members of the NE regional team regarding planning, project management, engagement activities, reporting and the evaluation of programs and services.
In addition, the Project Management Lead is responsible to support the implementation of Ontario Health’s Annual Business Plan Strategic Priorities, regional initiatives within the North East, and to provide assistance to partners and collaborators to successfully plan, execute and manage projects, and to fulfil their program management responsibilities.

Here is what you will be doing:
• Works with members in the Northeast System Strategy, Planning, Design and Implementation Team on project management functions related to healthcare planning
• Reviews and supports the analysis of local health-care system based on provincial data, community input and other sources for the purpose of identifying gaps and establishing planning priorities.
• Supports, participates in and contributes to provincial planning activities and conducts effective partner and collaborator consultation related to planning, assessing impact of planning recommendations and decisions, and promotes consensus among partners and collaborators for action required.
• Supports the management of project plans and budget allocation for planning and integration initiatives.
• Supports teams to ensure health service provider and service provider organization adherence to health service accountability agreements.
• Communicate and report on project status including local updates to the SSPDI NE team and participating partners and collaborators as appropriate.
• Provides strategic and tactical communications support from a project management perspective.
• Understands and complies with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations, and the organization’s health and safety practices, policies, and procedures.
• Contributes to a culture of equity and patient safety, which includes respect, accountability, and open communication.
• Coordinates and fosters regional initiatives which improve quality and patient safety.
• Other duties as assigned.

Here is what you will need to be successful:

Education and Experience
• University degree in Health, Public or Business Administration or related field
• Professional Project Management (PMP) certification or formal project management training required.

Knowledge and Skills
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a relevant role including projects with a broad or regional perspective
• Substantial experience with preparing reports, proposals and presentations and ensuring quality of reports and data.
• Experience participating in health strategy and implementation of planning initiatives.
• Experience with projects that span across multiple organizations.
• Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of clinical and non-clinical partners and collaborators.
• Strong working knowledge of Project Management Institute’s (PMI) project management methodologies
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, or related project management solution
• Knowledge of provincial and local health-care priorities, initiative, and issues
• Knowledge of Ontario Health’s business strategies, objectives, priorities and programs, and related communications priorities and plans
• Knowledge and understanding of the Ontario Health North’s partners and collaborators as well as overall issues and priorities within the healthcare sector.
• Knowledge of key administrative practices, policies, and procedures, especially around confidentiality and release of information

Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time
Paygrade and Zone: 6A
