Global property consultancy and broker JLL has hired an engineer to lead its Program and Project Management practice across the Middle East and Africa region.

Sean Doherty, who is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, brings over 25 years of experience delivering and leading programs for both public and private sector clients across Europe, Russia, North America, the Middle East, Africa, and Australia.

During his years working in the Middle East, Doherty has been involved with projects for The Red Sea Development Company, Diriyah Gate, Saudi Entertainment Ventures, NEOM, MISK and Kuwait Civil Aviation.

Most recently the Director of Operations at WSP in the Middle East, Doherty previously was a Senior Director at The Red Sea Development Company and spent twelve years at engineering consultancy Mott MacDonald. Earlier, he spent over a decade in transport planning roles in Europe.

JLL’s Project & Development Services group has more than 500 consultants across the Middle East & Africa. Doherty now leads the largest practice within this group (250 consultants), taking on the responsibility from Alan Baker, who has stepped down from the role as he prepares for retirement.

The team Doherty oversees supports clients with an end-to-end project delivery capacity, from project planning to PMO setup through to delivery, cost management, benefits tracking, and digital tooling.
