An Aussie entrepreneur has clawed his way back from near collapse to receiving a Netflix deal in under two years.
Shane Keenan, the 38-year-old founder of comic book and graphic novel publisher, COMICS2MOVIES, almost shut down his business in 2020 thanks to debilitating fatigue and Covid lockdowns.
Since then, the Victorian man has since seen his business grow by $200,000 and won 10 international comic awards.

The entrepreneur became a victim of ‘hustle culture’ when he started his publishing business, working around the clock at the cost of his mental and physical health.
At his lowest, he contemplated shutting down his business as lockdowns forced all comic book conventions to shut down, slashing his revenue.
Mr Keenan called this his most ‘professionally and personally challenging time’.
He attributes his bounce back to working hard on bettering himself before his business, enlisting the help of a psychologist and a GP to improve his health.
Mr Keenan also hired a business coach from an agency named The Entourage, who helped him create a more sustainable work model that benefits both him and his business.
‘Instead of hustling just for revenue, Shaun is working smarter towards sustainable growth and improvement – both personally and professionally,’ The Entourage said.
‘These changes have since resulted in $40,000 in revenue that first year and an additional $150,000 raised on the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter.’
Mr Keenan has since become a multi-award winner, seen his business grow by $200,000 and receive an offer from Netflix, while also living a happy life with his wife (right) and daughter
Keenan’s Netflix offer is still on the table, but he is exploring avenues with other streaming services such as Amazon Prime.
After finding his work-life balance, he now lives happily with his wife and daughter in Gisborne, while both his business and personal projects are steadily growing.
‘If I have to say one thing (as I have learned so much over the past 18 months) it would have to be self-worth, both professionally and personally,’ Mr Keenan said.
‘Understanding what I’m worth, what my time is worth, and what I bring to the table professionally is something that will hold me in good stead moving forward in life.’
