Paczkowski Will Be Focused on Growing the Tech Team in Size and Impact
NEW YORK – May 26, 2022 – Forbes today announced the appointment of John Paczkowski to Executive Editor, Innovation & Technology. Based in San Francisco, Paczkowski will oversee Forbes’ coverage of technology including AI, big data, cloud, consumer tech, cybersecurity, enterprise tech, social media, venture capital, and more.
Paczkowski, reporting to Forbes’ Chief Content Officer, Randall Lane, will be focused on expanding Forbes’ coverage in key areas, producing impactful journalism and growing the already strong stable of Forbes technology writers, reporters and editors.
“Technology and innovation are key drivers of our culture and the modern, global economy, making ambitious coverage evermore critical,” said Paczkowski. “I can’t wait to get started taking some big swings with the team in July.”
Most recently, Paczkowski was the Technology and Business editor of Buzzfeed News, where he was part of an editing group that helped engineer a Pulitzer Prize, a Polk Award and a Livingston, among many others.
Prior to his seven years at Buzzfeed News, John was Kara Swisher and Walt Mossberg’s first editorial hire at the Wall Street Journal’s AllThingD division which became Re/code, where he was the Deputy Editor.
“Everywhere John has worked, he has discovered talent, made them better and broken stories of impact,” said Randall Lane, Forbes Chief Content Officer. “Looking at his career arc, it’s incredibly exciting to think what he can achieve stepping into a brand like Forbes, and the outstanding team that he inherits.”
Jeffrey Taylor, who most recently oversaw the tech and innovation team, will shift his focus on finishing his next novel and remain as a contributing writer at Forbes. John Paczkowski will start on July 11, 2022.
