AT the VST ECS-sponsored CXO Innovation Summit, a host of key themes underpinning the rise of a modern digital enterprise ran through the four days of keynote addresses at Shangri-La Boracay.
Titled “Modernization in the Era of Digital Economy,” this highly anticipated event gathered tech leaders, vendors and customers for an update on major trends in the ICT industry today. The CXO Innovation Summit was last held in the same venue in 2019.
In his opening address to some 200 delegates to the Summit, Jimmy Go, chief executive of VST ECS, said, “Now that digital channels and physical platforms have been accepted for communication, collaboration, and transaction, IT is at the center stage. To address the demands of the changed world, we need to prepare for the unpredictable future where technology is the center of innovation and the success of an enterprise.”
“Depending on the business priority, modernization could be in any of these areas: cyber security, data protection, storage, data management, networking, cloud solutions, collaboration solutions, process automations, and many among others. Ultimately, IT modernization initiatives should result in business transformation,” Go said.
In the succeeding keynote presentations, breakout sessions, and panel discussion, the following specific areas for business innovation were tackled:
– Achieving growth in the cloud. Myriad services and technologies in the cloud could enhance competitiveness, improve speed to market, innovate, and enhance customer experiences and the track speakers provided proven strategies on how to get the most out of the cloud for business transformation, reinvention, and growth.
– The science of cyber intelligence and risk management. The new way of working has exposed hidden vulnerabilities of corporate networks and several Summit sessions offered fundamentals in evaluating and developing approaches to threat resilience for organizations, especially in dealing with evolving ransomware.
– Big data. Many industries are making significant investments in big data analytics, including banking, media, manufacturing, retail, and health care and the Big Data track got its audience thinking about how to adapt, adopt and leverage the technology, data analytics, and experiences it could offer to ensure long-term competitiveness.
– Modern data resilience strategy. Today, the landscape where data resides continues to evolve and this track helped and guided participants on the various components of resiliency to ensure continuity of service regardless of the situation, to include storage, backup, network security, and power.
– Building intelligent next-generation connectivity. Advances in connectivity and communication technologies play a big role in connecting physical things together to allow an exchange of information and the sessions looked into the integration of smart technologies that allow IoT devices and machines to communicate and make autonomous decisions across distances between the physical and digital worlds.
– The workforce of tomorrow. As the workplace transforms toward digital and the workforce becomes dispersed, the discussions in this track took on issues in developing a digital workplace framework, fostering collaboration and connection in a changing workforce, and using technology to stimulate learning and innovation.
