After long search, UC Townhomes resident finds new home

University City Townhomes’ affordable housing subsidy expiration has been pushed back to January — with about a quarter of residents still in limbo.

  • Finding a new place has been difficult for the displaced residents, who were given Section 8 vouchers that are often declined by prospective landlords. Meanwhile, the PHA waiting list is years long.

But after 15 months looking, West Philly grandmom Lynn Green finally found a new home. BP intern Emily White tells the story of how she did it.
