You’ve been looking at that car all summer.
You’ve been thinking about driving that car all summer.
And if you want to drive that car every summer from now on, it’s getting to the point where it’s now or never.
The deadline to purchase tickets for the Habitat for Humanity Kamloops Car Raffle is coming up quickly. The winning ticket for the sleek and stunning red 1968 convertible Camaro SS will be held on Saturday, Oct. 15, at 4:30 p.m., and if you do not buy a ticket you will not be the one behind the wheel when it is driven away.

Fran ripped up her mortgage recently.
The deadline to purchase tickets online for the raffle is this Sunday, Oct. 9, at 11:59 p.m. The draw will take place at the Salmon Arm ReStore, located at 1400 Trans-Canada Hwy.
More important, though, is how purchasing a ticket will help people find safe, attainable housing and ultimately become mortgage-free. Fran is a perfect example. She worked with Habitat for Humanity Kamloops to make home ownership work for her and her family several years ago. Her commitment, time and effort resulted in a success story for her and her family.
A ceremony to rip up her mortgage was held recently, and the tears of happiness were definitely spilled.
“Very emotional,” Habitat for Humanity Kamloops vice-executive director Shelly Ne Ville says of the mortgage-ripping ceremony. “It’s being freed … from from that debt.”
It’s why the organization hauled the red 1968 convertible Camaro SS all over B.C. this summer, hitting all the popular car shows. It earned whistles of praise at every stop.
Habitat for Humanity Kamloops serves Kamloops and communities in the Thompson-Nicola, Columbia-Shuswap, Cariboo and Fraser-Fort George regions of B.C., which means proceeds from the car raffle will support the non-profit organization in its mission to build affordable housing for seniors, veterans and families throughout its vast service area.
So if you now feel the pull to help those who need a little extra help in finding safe, affordable housing, why not win a sweet ride while you are at it?
The Camaro has its original colours—red on red with a white top—its regular old rims and a 350-horsepower engine. The car has been refurbished but not restored, so it is an authentic ride.
Tickets can be purchased online here until this Sunday, Oct. 9, at 11:59 p.m.
