Every start-up needs a level of hand holding. MamaEarth co-founder Ghazal Alagh is prepared to be the guiding light for the ‘Shark Tank India‘ founders she has shown faith in during the popular business reality TV show.

In order to mentor and train the freshly-minted founders, the desi Shark launched a one-of-its-kind mentorship programme, ‘Gyaan Day‘, on Monday.

The special programme saw participation from six early-stage startups – The Sass Bar, Sunfox Technologies, Gold Safe Solutions Ind, Beyond Water Spandan, Nomad Food Project and Humpy Foods – from Alagh’s ‘Shark Tank India’ portfolio.

Aimed at empowering budding entrepreneurs, the entrepreneur-investor ensured access to the tools and skills required to scale their respective businesses. All the focus was on decoding various aspects of building a brand such as basics in marketplace, finance, influencer marketing, growth marketing, supply chain, logistics, warehousing, etc.

The 32-year-old and her team of senior leaders shared valuable tips on brand building, selling on marketplaces, and growth marketing using Facebook and Google.

Leading ecosystem partners like Shiprocket, IPLIX Media, Emyza, STartup Buddy, Techsevin, among others also shared tips around logistics, warehousing, influencer management, Shopify, and finance during the second phase of the programme.

The participants got a chance to connect with accelerators like Amazon Launchpad, Blinkit, and Bigbasket Accelerator. They also got a glimpse of communities like D2C Insider, led by the community founder Abhishek Shah.

Alagh also took to Instagram to share the news. She said that she was proud of her ‘Shark Tank India’ ventures.

“Together with our combined efforts, I am confident we’ll make these ventures a huge success. I am truly invested in all of them and their startups and would like nothing more than to see them succeed. Cheers to my budding entrepreneurs,” she wrote.

In a statement shared with the media, The Derma Co co-founder said that an entrepreneur needs passion to thrive, and not ‘a fancy degree’ or a lot of capital. She stressed that she invested in passionate individuals.

With her debut in ‘Shark Tank India’, Alagh wanted to change the perception of an ideal entrepreneur and pave a way for passionate businessmen.

Besides her investment in the popular TV show, the mother-of-one has invested in a number of women-led startups like Uvi, Vaari, BlissClub, Protouch, etc. She is hopeful to see more women-founded unicorns over the next five years.
