A group of international investment consultants, on a working visit to Georgia as part of the USAID Economy Security Programme, have pledged to promote the country as the “best place worldwide” to invest and featuring the “easiest procedures” to start a business.
The visiting professionals are hosted by Enterprise Georgia – a state initiative for promoting entrepreneurship – in a bid to establish the country’s investment potential.
Sean Goforth, one of the 13 consultants, said he was “impressed” by Georgia. Praising the country’s “high quality of life and proximity to markets in Europe, the Middle East and Asia”, the consultant vowed to inform investors about “profitable offers” being made by the Georgian authorities to them after returning to North America.
I have been in Georgia since last week, and I was extremely impressed by the human talent, the excellent quality of connectivity – high-speed Internet access not only in Tbilisi, but in other parts of the country – and, of course, the business-friendly environment”, Goforth said.

Introduced to success stories of the domestic entrepreneurship, fellow consultant Jerry Szatan said there were “a number of examples foreign companies had developed their activities in Georgia”, adding the “easiness to start business in the country is one of great advantages”.
During these few days, I had the opportunity to talk with representatives of companies that were founded or moved here, and then went to international markets and attracted international investors. Their example proves that it is possible to develop a company in Georgia, which, I think, is a big plus for your country”, he said, stressing that “we would recommend investors to invest in the country”.
Speaking to media on Wednesday, several other consultants described Georgia as an “ideal gateway between Central Europe and Asia” and “a very interesting place for international investors” with a “favourable business environment”.

In further details, the head of Enterprise Georgia, Mikheil Khidureli, said the delegation included consultants from the United States, Europe and Asia for meetings with consulting companies, business associations, donors, international organisations and foreign companies operating in Georgia to discuss investment opportunities in the country.
According to international practice, this is one of the most effective ways to attract more foreign investments to the country and bring specific companies. As a result of such fruitful cooperation with international consultants, Georgia appears more and more often on the map of leading companies and large investors”, Khidureli said.
He also noted the consultants involved in the familiarisation tour were global companies looking for investment locations and facilities over the world.
The consultants, who arrived in Georgia last week, are scheduled to visit Georgia’s eastern and western regions of Kakheti and Kutaisi, where they will meet representatives of various agencies and organisations, receive information and discuss investment opportunities in a number of industries.
