Ahmedabad: The startup incubator International Centre for Entrepreneurship and Technology (iCreate) on Tuesday announced the launch of EVangelise 2022, the country’s largest EV innovation challenge, in partnership with Startup India and CII-CoE for Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Startups (CII-CIES).
Aimed at solving real-world challenges in the EV industry, the second edition of EVangelise was announced by Jagdish Vishwakarma, the minister of state for industries, the Government of Gujarat.
EVangelise 2022 will explore opportunities to create solutions in the areas of battery safety and EV infrastructure. Leaders from NITI Aayog, BPCL, Dassault Systems India Pvt Ltd, MyByk, HSBC, Hero Motocorp, and eInfochips will be among the participants.
“Gujarat has the highest adoption of battery-operated two-wheelers in the country, which makes it an ideal destination for industries wanting to invest in EV manufacturing,” the minister said. “We are further incentivizing the demand with double the amount of subsidy on EVs than any other state, on a per kWh basis. iCreate’s EVangelise innovation challenge will help the industry access indigenous technology in this space.”
