Cr Jonic said council entered the partnership with TAFE Queensland after hearing from local businesses and the Chambers of Commerce on what would be useful for new operators in the city.
“By funding this Certificate for business owners we can support them to take charge of their future and develop those core skills that will underpin success,” Cr Jonic said.
“Council recognises that TAFE Queensland, as an established and respected education provider, is best placed to provide these skills through the Certificate IV in Entrepreneurship and Small Business.
“Supporting business owners, especially in growth industries, is also great news for the local economy.
“It is not just for new businesses, but also for established business owners who are now keen to take their operations to the next level.”
