Local entrepreneur shares the secrets to success

‘Learning from local entrepreneurs is not only important for existing entrepreneurs and business owners, but for the next generation as well’

When Chris Cooper’s gym business was struggling, he started a blog to chronicle his comeback.

Other gym owners were captivated by his experience and honesty, and three years later Cooper had a bestselling book on the fitness business.

When entrepreneurs began asking him what they should do, he founded Two-Brain Business to provide mentorship in the fitness space.

Cooper will be one of the featured guests Jan. 18 as StartUP Sault Ste. Marie in partnership with Northern Credit Union will kick off 2023 with another Startup Talks event to celebrate and learn from the experiences of Sault Ste. Marie’s top entrepreneurs.

Past entrepreneurs featured have included Jason Katzenback, Co-Founder of Amazing.com, Jeff Elgie, CEO of Village Media, Kevin Rusnell, CEO of DIG and Rhaelyn Gillespie, Co-founder of Mintier.

Cooper will talk about his entrepreneurial journey from gym owner to best-selling author and founder of Two-Brain Business, his thriving mentorship company in the fitness space.

With over 800 client gyms and a team of over 45 mentors worldwide, he is now focused on helping the next generation of entrepreneurs through his new personal platform, BusinessIsGood.com. Chris will share his secrets of success, lessons learned and trials and tribulations along the way.

“Learning from local entrepreneurs is not only important for existing entrepreneurs and business owners, but for the next generation as well. Our Startup Talks events provide the opportunity to showcase Sault Ste. Marie’s top entrepreneurs and allow them to share their entrepreneurial journeys and best advice,” said Nevin Buconjic, StartUP Sault president in a news release.

A question-and-answer session will follow the talk. Seating for this in-person event is limited to 35. Tickets are $5.00 + tax and includes coffee, tea and snacks. Cash bar will be available. The vent is at 6 p.m. in the Steamfitters Lounge (in the Machine Shop).

Tickets can be purchased here.
