- There are dozens of podcasts about various aspects of the creator economy, from taxes to burnout.
- But with so many options, it can be hard to determine which ones are worth a listen.
- Insider asked 25 creator economy experts for their podcast recommendations about the industry.
When Reed Duchscher, the CEO of talent management company Night, started his podcast “Creator Economics” in 2020, he felt that there weren’t enough shows pulling back the curtain on the influencer industry — from how to break into the business to the latest tea.
“There wasn’t really anything out there that creators could go to that was educating them on algorithm changes, trends, deeper learning that other creators had found,” Duchscher told Insider.
And he had a point: While some shows already existed, like industry favorites “The Colin and Samir Show” and “Creator Club,” there weren’t nearly enough industry-focused podcasts to keep up with the sky-rocketing creator economy.
Fast forward just two years and podcast platforms are flooded with “creator” shows. There’s “The Creator Economy Podcast,” “Brand Meet Creator,” and “Creator Culture,” just to name a few.
Veronika Taylor, SVP of creator network at Acast, a company that supports podcasters with monetization and growth, told Insider that the growth of the podcasting industry has been exponential and that includes creator-focused shows.
“I keep wondering, ‘Are we going to start to plateau?’ But no, I don’t think so,” Taylor told Insider. “I think a lot of new types of creators are getting into podcasting now, like a YouTube creator or a social media-first creator.”
With dozes of podcasts for and by creators, Insider asked 25 industry experts which shows they tune into. The creators, talent managers, marketers, and platform executives recommended a mix of advice and interview shows, some from the industry’s top creators and managers, and some from smaller names.
